RED CONTROL CATEGORY - Group Numbers Reduced

Posted 11/24/2020

Hello Everyone,

As you are all aware, as of Monday, November 23rd Durham Region was moved into the Red-Control Category of the Ontario Government's COVID 19 Response Framework. Click here

The Board worked all weekend to try to figure out a plan that would keep our skaters safe, and allow them to train to the best of their ability while following the red control guidelines.

Most skaters with changes in their schedules should of been notified already, so if you haven't heard anything you are probably good to continue skating your regular session. Please know we are still working through some bugs and kinks so we ask that you be patient with us.

Our schedule changes are posted (changes are in red) and our updated Return To Play document. A few things we would like highlight on the protocols:

  • Maximum of 10 people on ice (volunteers, skaters, coaches)
  • NO SPECTATORS (exception 1 parent/guardian per child under 18)
  • No change rooms-chairs to tie skates
  • No Guest Skating-Sessions are full
  • Must enter as a group, no in/out privileges
  • Social Distance increased to 3 metres while exercising

Posted 11/22/2020
Dear CanSkate & Hockey Skills members,
We regret having to inform you that in order to comply with Durham's move to COVID-19 Red Control Zone safety measures which limits groups to 10 individuals (skaters, coaches, volunteers), the board has decided to end Fall Learn to Skate classes effective Monday, November 23.
For those that are effected, we will issue credits to your account for upcoming sessions being cancelled. We will be contacting members as we work to scale back our programming.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact our CanSkate Coordinators or any one of our club board members.
Thank you for your understanding and support,
OSC Board of Directors

Please stay tuned for changes in programming as we navigate these challenging times.

We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Stay healthy and safe everyone!

OSC is a Grant Recipient for 2020!

Posted 11/8/2020

We are pleased to share that the Oshawa Skating Club has been selected by @CTJumpstart to receive a grant from their Sport Relief Fund.

We recently received confirmation that we are amongst 668 sport and recreation organizations nationally to be provided with grant support through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund. We are beyond grateful to receive this news and know how positive an impact it will have on sport and recreation organizations, and ultimately, on kids across the country.

The fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids. This grant will go a long way towards helping us to provide quality programming for skaters!
